Heal Your Tired Adrenal Glands

There is not an official medical term for fatigued adrenal glands as of yet but the phrase ‘adrenal fatigue’ is pretty common. It is true, however, that Addison’s disease is the insufficiency of your adrenal glands. If the glands become depleted entirely it will most often result in death. When an individual begins to feel fatigued there are certain changes that they can do on their own to improve the problem. It is advised that individuals consult with a doctor to make sure that their fatigue is not the result of any other serious disease. In order for the doctor to properly diagnose you they will more than likely take samples of your blood and stool.

When suffering from tired adrenal glands one should decrease the amount of caffeine you consume or better yet eliminate it from your diet all together. Caffeine keeps you awake by blocking certain chemicals that cause you to feel tired. Over time your body will build up a tolerance to the effects of caffeine which reduces its useful qualities. When feeling fatigued there are other remedies to this problem without having to consume caffeine.

One such remedy is to start using adaptogens which are simply supplements that enable your body to deal with the negative effects of stress a little better. Some studies suggest that adaptogens help to regulate an individual’s resistance to stress which may result in an increase in their mental and physical performance. A few examples of adaptogens include ginseng and cordyceps. Adaptogens give you that same affect of feeling more awake and focused, but it doesn’t make you feel jittery like caffeine does.

Another solution to this problem is to engage in something that you find to be relaxing. This may include taking a bubble bath, listening to soft music, curling up with a good book, or going to get a deep tissue massage. It is advised that individuals engage in these activities every day for at least 20 or 30 minutes.

In some cases the reason that an individual may be dealing with tired adrenal glands is due to their sleeping habits. It may be a good idea to participate in a sleep study to see if the problem might be sleep apnea.
